Role: Global managing editor
Client: AkzoNobel
Project: Global website redesign (2013-14)

In 2013, AkzoNobel undertook a cross-platform programme to shift their market’s perception of them from a paint company to a leading source of decorative inspiration. This complex initiative saw AkzoNobel roll out a redesigned platform to 42 markets, using a centralised distribution model.

As global managing editor, my role was to shape a content strategy designed to engage consumers at every stage of their decision making journey. I developed creative concepts, wrote editorial guidance, devised content plans, wrote the site's microcopy/site furniture, managed a team of freelance writers and worked with local partners to translate and localise that content.

In an 18 month period, the team created more than 400 pieces of content for more than 16 local markets, including South AfricaPolandArgentinaUruguayFrance and the UK
